I need some ideas.....

I found this fabric and I absolutely fell in love with it! However, I have no idea what to do with it. I need some ideas! The floral print is very big and very busy, I'm afraid it will get lost in a pattern with tiny pieces. And the stripes....what was I thinking?!? I'm afraid of stripes and I try to avoid them at all costs...but I couldn't resist this time.

Any ideas? Anyone, anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Some Quilty Pictures

I thought I'd post some pictures of things I'm working on (or have recently worked on). I had planned to finish up a quilt top this weekend while the boys were sleeping and Jason was out of town, but a certain 2 year old discovered how to climb out of his crib and terrorize Mommy during her "down time". So, no quilting was done this weekend!

This is a "Good Wishes Quilt" that I need to get quilted so DH can get my website up and running (more on that to come).
The tradition of a Good Wishes Quilt goes back to Northern China. When a woman becomes pregnant, friends & family donate fabric for the mother to make a quilt for the child. Its said that each time the baby is swaddled in that blanket, they are also wrapped in the love and good wishes of those that contributed fabric. This tradition has become a huge part of the international adoption community. We are currently waiting for our next little bundle of joy - and she'll be coming from China - and to pass the time, we're making our own Good Wishes Quilt. I'm also blogging the progress of that quilt for our friends and family. I would post a link, but I'm still trying to figure out how! Stay Tuned!!! (for now, the link is in the sidebar under My Daily Reads)

My Daily Reads

I added a list of the blogs I visit daily (ok, I'll admit one of them is another one of mine I started for family members to track a very special quilt I'm making - its very basic, no frills).
I don't have many blogs that I read daily, but if you'd like me to check out yours, just post a comment and I promise to look! If it becomes a favorite, I'll add it to the list!

Hello, an introduction to my blog

HELLO! My name is Jessica and I've decided its time to get with the times and start a blog!

My blog will focus mostly on my quilting, but life will always keep happening and the two just keep getting jumbled up together!

I am married to the most amazing man I've ever known. Jason is not only my husband but my best friend and an awesome father. We have two wild and crazy boys (aren't all boys wild & crazy?). Benjamin is five and Carter is two and a half (the picture to the left is about a year old - I'll be getting new pictures next week). I'm a Stay at Home Mom, but we don't do much staying at home. They keep me busy, but I wouldn't have my life any other way (well, maybe I'd build in a few more hours for quilting time each day!)

I have lots of out of town family and I'm hoping this will help keep us all connected a little more. I'm also looking forward to making many new friends out there in cyberspace! I hope to try to post everyday, but I'm not making any promises! Drop me an email or post a comment just to say HI (and so I know I'm not just talking to myself out here in web world).
