Some Quilty Pictures

I thought I'd post some pictures of things I'm working on (or have recently worked on). I had planned to finish up a quilt top this weekend while the boys were sleeping and Jason was out of town, but a certain 2 year old discovered how to climb out of his crib and terrorize Mommy during her "down time". So, no quilting was done this weekend!

This is a "Good Wishes Quilt" that I need to get quilted so DH can get my website up and running (more on that to come).
The tradition of a Good Wishes Quilt goes back to Northern China. When a woman becomes pregnant, friends & family donate fabric for the mother to make a quilt for the child. Its said that each time the baby is swaddled in that blanket, they are also wrapped in the love and good wishes of those that contributed fabric. This tradition has become a huge part of the international adoption community. We are currently waiting for our next little bundle of joy - and she'll be coming from China - and to pass the time, we're making our own Good Wishes Quilt. I'm also blogging the progress of that quilt for our friends and family. I would post a link, but I'm still trying to figure out how! Stay Tuned!!! (for now, the link is in the sidebar under My Daily Reads)
Good Day For Now!

(that was ME, above, who deleted my comment, due to mispellings!)

Welcome to blogging! Personally, I've had a ball 'meeting' all the bloggers, seeing all their gorgeous projects, etc. After several weeks of fooling around, I had mine up and running - the basics - and despite promises to do more with it, I haven't! Too busy sewing and surfing! Come on by, and leave a comment so I know you were there. Leaving comments is a GREAT way to assure folks come to YOUR blog.

Have fun!

Interesting, I've never heard of this before, but then it wasn't until a few months ago that I even knew anyone planning to adopt and now 2 of my nieces are in the paperwork chase and working toward adopting little girls from China. Thanks for sharing!

I actually had thought about this idea for my own baby due in January, but wasn't sure how to approach family or if they'd even want to participate....something to think on.
