How do you design??

I decided to throw my hat in the ring for DQS 7.

I had an idea in my head, so I started with these (which is evidently where I start with every doll quilt swap...

I put them together like this......

....and then it grew into this. Which is absolutely nothing like the orignal design in my head. But I love it. And I don't want to send it away.
Sometimes when I have an idea in my head, its hard to get it to work with fabric. So I don't stress about it. The fabric and the blocks will tell you how they want to play, you just have to open enough to listen. So how do you design? Do you tell the fabric what to do? Or do you let the fabric call the shots?

Oh, oh PLEASE send it away, I know you want to keep it, but pleeeeeease send it!!!! =0) Because I am like, all in love, and twitterpated and jittery just looking at it! I absolutely adore it!

Thanks for contacting me, and letting me know what was going on. I wasn't kept in the loop, all I was told was that you had been in contact with her, but then you stopped answering emails and she hadn't heart anything from you in a while and she assumed you had flaked.

I almost wish that had been the case because I am so sorry to hear that your family has been so sick. I am however glad to hear that you are all on the mend, I hope you all continue to get better.

We supposedly had it a few weeks ago but I am not sure I believe them because for us it was more like a slight cold with a fever. Other than the raging headaches, and the fatigue, I never really felt that bad and my kids were about the same. We just have the never ending cough now.

I hope you all continue to get better and I am sorry if my post hurt your feelings, I was just so sad that day when I thought, once again, I had been let down. I am glad to know that isn't the case, and I can't wait to go check out more of your blog, it sounds like you and I have a lot in common! I too love vintage pyrex! =0)
